The Full Story
Our congregation is rich in history, originating in the Union Church of New Oxford (Lutheran, Reformed, and Presbyterian) organized in 1822. In January, 1860, we were chartered as the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Oxford. From 1860 until 1934, the church building was located on North Peter Street. In 1934, our present building was dedicated. In 1993, the rear of the building was modified to make the building accessible to the handicapped. In 2022 we wil be celebrating our 200th Anniversary.
